Defend Free Elections: Defeat HR 1

During the 2020 elections, many swing states used unconstitutional practices to change their election law. Now, the U.S. House’s H.R. 1, For the People Act, will make many of those practices part of federal election law, making it possible to rig future elections.

Here are some of the most harmful aspects of the bill:
1 – Reform the Federal Election Commission, giving the president outsized, unconstitutional authority over the FEC.
2 – Encourage Churches, Chambers of Commerce, Human Rights Groups to NOT to talk to legislators because of potential consequences for their donors
3 – Force Donor Disclosure, putting people who support non-profits that engage in advocacy in danger through forced doxing on public records.

It will also remove the requirement for voters to say they are a citizen, restore felon voting rights, permit same day registration and voting, prohibit states from requiring voter ID, force states to use ballot drop boxes, and more.

HR 1 is currently being considered in House committees, but we need to be active in letting our representatives know that we want them to oppose this bill starting now. If just six Democrats vote against this, this bill can be defeated.

What you can do to stop this bill:
1) Email and call your representatives! (Republican or Democrat)
2) Email and call the 14 Democratic representatives from Conservative districts listed in the link in bio (if you are from their state or district, include that in your message).
3) Connect with organizations this would affect (pro-life places, advocacy groups) from Right AND Left and ask that THEY call their representatives as organizations. Advocacy groups carry a lot of sway in DC.
