“Never Give Up” – Reflections from January 6

As we left the Capitol our emotions were raw. We were tired, a little shaken up and discouraged. We had traveled hundreds of miles to stand for free and fair elections, for liberty, for the democratic process. We hadn’t come for what we witnessed taking place at our beloved Capitol. We had come to peacefully protest.

In that moment we felt as if our message was ruined and our work was in vain. As we walked back to our vehicles another patriot called after us, “Don’t stop fighting, keep contacting your legislators, and going to those city council meetings! We have to keep fighting!”

It was a word fitly spoken in that moment. In a moment when I felt like I had given my all and it wasn’t enough. In a moment when I contemplated giving up completely. Apathy in a time like this, however, would be giving our enemy exactly what they wanted. The radical agendas of the left will most assuredly succeed, if we do nothing! The lie that my individual choices and actions don’t make a difference in this world is an easy one to swallow since we don’t always see the difference we are making. But thinking like this is simply not true.

“Duty is ours, results are God’s.” – John Quincy Adams

We all have to do our part for truth and liberty, no matter how small that part is. Maybe it is posting on social media, engaging in political conversations with friends and family, praying, getting more involved in local politics, giving financially to a political organization you trust, working the polls, contacting your legislators, running for the school board, or becoming a conservative leader in your community. Let’s make this our finest hour!
