Praying for the Election

We are one week out from a presidential election, with two candidates diametrically opposed to each other in their platforms and policies. Christians across America have been praying and fasting, many throughout the day on Tuesdays.

This prayer from George Washington, shows humility to God and a heart of reverence towards God reminds us that we still serve the same God and believe the same truths as our founders and at times like these, we, like them, should turn to our Creator.

“Be pleased to dispose us all to do justice, to love mercy and to demean ourselves with that charity, humility and pacific temper of mind which were the characteristics of The Divine Author of our blessed religion, and without whose example in these things we can never hope to be a happy nation.
