9/11: Never Forget

On this 9/11, let us not forget that the attack those terrorists made that day was an attack on the ideal of America. And together, we cried out to God in tragedy, linked arms, and fought to defend our nation and the ideals it represents. George W. Bush said that night, “America was targeted for attack because we’re the brightest beacon for freedom and opportunity in the world. And no one will keep that light from shining.”

Tonight, our cities are burning once again. But this time, they are burning because an enemy from the midst of us aims to destroy everything America has ever stood for. To redefine justice and freedom and personal rights. To put guilt in the place of hope, shame in the place of confidence.

This attack in many ways is similar to that attack 19 years ago. Let us, as Americans, unite under God and the founding principles of liberty and justice. Let us never be silent in the face of evil. Let’s stand, as Patriots.
